  AUTHOR’S NOTE

  As some of my readers may know, I used to live in the beautiful Georgian city of Bath in the UK (if you haven’t been, I urge you to go – it’s lovely).

  In 2016, no fewer than three human feet were found in and around Bath, very close to where I actually lived at the time (you can find out a little more here: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-somerset-36987557).

  It’s not an exaggeration to say that for years, I wanted to somehow include these bizarre happenings in a Kate Redman story but for the life of me, I couldn’t think how to do it. Finally, inspiration struck (at six in the bloody morning!) and fingers crossed, I think I’ve managed to create a credible story.
